PJ's Piano Instruction encourages musical exploration, discovery, imitation, and creativity. Our lessons carefully consider the stages of children’s growth and development and acknowledge individual learning styles.
Piano instruction prepares a foundation for future success both academically and beyond.

* Increases coordination - Increased eye-hand coordination for children that learn to play the piano, with improved fine motor skills &, unlike other instruments, the piano requires both hands to work independently of each other.

* Increases concentration - Reading music takes extreme focus. Students must first interpret a note & rhythm, then translate it onto the keyboard. It requires children to think both critically & creatively, developing skills for success in a multitude of other endeavors.

* Increases language and thinking skills - Music is a language. Studies prove that language acquisition occurs with greater ease & proficiency when begun at a young age. Piano performance requires children to translate those strange marks on the lines, then generate music on an instrument. This learning process enhances the area of the brain that processes new languages.

* Increases math skills - Music & math are connected. The concepts of rhythm & meter reinforce math concepts & can increase math skills & aptitude.

PJ's Voice Instruction also encourages musical exploration, discovery, imitation, & creativity. Our lessons carefully consider the stages of children’s growth & development & acknowledge individual learning styles as to not injure their growing vocal cords.  We allow them to go and grow at their own pace, but still provide a challenge for them and goals to reach regularly.
 

Voice lessons has many of the advantages that piano has in that it also increases concentration, confidence, pride and is an enhanced skill/talent that is tuned to provide beautiful music for many years to come, even possibly a lifetime.  Not to mention the possibilities of financial gain from gigs and performances.
